General Data Protection (GDPR)

HIGHAM WITH MERSTON PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL

New data protection regulations, called GDPR, took effect on 25 May 2018. These are designed to give you more control over your own data and how it is used.

We appreciate that when you share your data with us, you trust us to look after it. Higham with Merston Parochial Church Council is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and complying with the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation.

That's why we've produced a new privacy policy and privacy notices to protect your rights and interests, with information to clarify:

• How we collect personal data

• How we use that data

• Your rights

• Our policies for retaining personal data

The new policy is available on this website.  Also available on the website are our 2 privacy notices.  If you carry out a voluntary role at St John’s, then the ‘Role Holders’ notice applies to you.  The ‘General’ notice applies if we hold your data for any other reason.  A hard copy of the policy and notices may be viewed in the GDPR folder at the back of St Jon’s Church.  If you would like your own copies of the policy and notices, then please speak to our Data Compliance Officer, Val Laurens (01474 823423).

If you have any questions or concerns, then contact Father James, a Churchwarden, or Val Laurens (DCO) and they will do their best to help you.

Revd. Canon J.F Southward and Higham with Merston PCC
